Case Win: NPAA Secures $10,800 for Member Bullied Over Safety Concerns
Standing Up for Nurses, Even When Management Won’t
A newly employed NPAA member began their role at a health service...
Date: Thursday 26th February 2026
Time: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM AEST
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Identify the key reasons nurses struggle to mentally and physically disengage from work, and reframe "healthy habits" as conditions that make recovery possible, not routines that require extra energy or motivation.
Reflect on how unresolved nervous system activation and incomplete psychological closure after shifts can affect safety, emotional regulation, and long-term clinical performance.
Distinguish between Transition, Regulation, and Containment habits, and understand how each category supports the shift from on-duty to off-duty in a way that works within nursing's unique demands.
Apply the three-step to design a practical post-shift recovery sequence that fits rotating rosters and high-fatigue environments
Identify peer-based and expert-led resources to continue building sustainable recovery habits and support ongoing CPD and wellbeing.
The NMBA requires nurses to maintain competence through self-awareness, critical thinking, and safe, sustainable practice.
This webinar supports nurses in understanding how lifestyle and mindset factors, often dismissed as “personal”
directly influence patient care, safety, and long-term performance.
